Welcome back! We trust you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends and were able to take some time to relax and be refreshed after a busy Christmas season. There is a lot to do in the snow and we will talk about those wintery activities. We will also learn about polar animals that live in cold and snowy places.

If you have not filled out the All about Me paper for your child please do so we can share with the class.

When a child is building with blocks, they are learning about shapes and sizes. Children are learning how to follow a design that they have in their heads. When they work with friends children have to cooperate and explain their ideas and plans. They are counting, grouping, sorting, classifying, and problem solving and matching

Now that cold and flu season is here, we ask that you please call and let us know if your child is sick and unable to come to school. Since we are required by the Regional Health Unit to track the number of influenza cases, please inform us of your child’s illness if you leave a message on our voicemail. (894-5999 x231)

Since we will get more snow this season, there may be the occasional inclement weather days. Stanley’s preschool closes whenever the schools close and this closure information is on the various local radio stations.

With the weather at such extreme cold, we post a note on the door if we are going out or not. If the temperature is -10°C or lower we will be staying inside.

Book orders are due Jan. 24, 25 and 26. Please make cheques payable to Scholastic Canada Ltd.

To help take the winter blahs away we are having crazy hair days on Jan. 24, 25 & 26.

Looking forward to the New Year.
