We have had a great start to Stanley’s Pre-School! Thank you for your patience as the children have transitioned into their classes. Anyone wanting to volunteer in the classrooms please ask us for a volunteer package which entails getting a police check.

This month we will be talking about Harvest on the Farm & Thanksgiving. Through stories, games, songs, and other activities, we will learn about Thanksgiving as well as notice the changes that occur at this time of year, such as the changing colours, cooler temperatures, falling leaves, etc. We will also be having a Halloween party for the preschool classes.

We will be taking our first class trip of the school year on October 17th & 18th to Steckle Heritage Homestead, where we will be learning about fall harvest and farm animals. We will meet you and your child at the Farm at 9:30 AM sharp (rain or shine). The trip is over at 11:00 AM. This trip is only for the preschool classes. Forms will be sent out next week. There will be no Thursday afternoon class as they will be joining us at the farm whichever morning works best for your family.

  • Please remember to label all your child’s clothing that is brought to preschool.
  • Please remember to call when your child is sick. We are required by the Health Department to track any influenza cases.
  • The preschool will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, October 8th.

Dramatic/Imaginative Play
When a child is playing in the dramatic play area they are trying on various roles to help them process and understand their world. They are developing social skills and ability to play with others while using their imagination and being creative. They are exploring concepts and relationships by acting them out.

Book orders are due by October 26. Please make cheques payable to Scholastic Canada Ltd., or you can pay online.

On October 30 & 31 we will be having our Halloween party. Children may come to school in their costumes (no scary costumes, swords/guns etc. please). If parents choose they are welcome to send treats for children to take home.

Happy Fall
